Helsinki Times is looking for a sharp and fast-moving News Editor to lead our day-to-day editorial output. From esports upsets to online casino developments, you’ll shape the voice of one of the most exciting and fast-growing gaming media platforms in the industry.
💼 What You’ll Be Doing
- Sourcing, writing, and publishing daily news stories across esports, casino, and betting
- Assigning breaking news and features to freelance contributors
- Editing submissions for clarity, accuracy, and tone
- Managing the news schedule and reacting to live trends
- Collaborating with SEO, social, and content teams to maximise reach
- Fact-checking and ensuring compliance with editorial standards
- Monitoring competitors and staying ahead of the curve
✅ What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years in digital journalism or news editing
- Strong knowledge of esports, iGaming, or tech culture
- Sharp writing and editing skills with headline instincts
- Able to juggle speed with editorial accuracy
- Familiarity with WordPress, Google Trends, and analytics
- A nose for what’s newsworthy and when it’ll break
- Bonus: experience working with remote writers or global contributors
